In 1976 an Evangelistic music ministry was formed called "The Free Spirit Singers."

     This group came under the leadership of James Kelly, and was comprised of members as young as 14 years of age.  They were dedicated to spreading the gospel message through music and the teaching of God's word. They took their message to college campuses and various other states. Hundreds of lives were changed by the power of God's Spirit, and many young people came to know the Lord.

In 1986 James Kelly answered the pastoral call and begin to shepherd the members of this singing group. In addition to this group, others joined with him as he established "Free Spirit Community Church (FSCC), a non-denominational, multicultural, fellowship of believers.

The name "Free Spirit" is special because it describes the Grace of God on this ministry.  As David cried out unto God, "Uphold me with thy Free Spirit" (Psalms 51:12) free meaning vast, powerful, and mighty.  We continually  witness the awesome power of God as he sets captives free from the bondage of sin and sorrow.  We also enjoy the freedom to enter into glorious praise and worship  through the anointed arts, music and singing.

     FSCC is a church with  strong emphasis on evangelism; teaching; worship and ministerial training.  We maintain a strong  commitment to reach this present generation with music and a message that is relevant for their time.  After making disciples, every effort is made to equip the new believer for the work of the ministry and help each one prosper by reaching their full potential, both spiritually and naturally.
